Myself, in a sentence
I guess I'm a bit of a paradox; outspoken but thoughtful, rebellious but traditional, independently co-dependent...I don't need you to be my life vest, I just don't want to drown alone. Oh, and I'm crass. definitely crass.
My favorite tattoo and the story behind it
The 18 Black Widows on my right side. I had been talking tattoos with friends years ago and someone said how painful they heard ribcage tats were. I took this as a challenge [I had gotten my septum pierced for the very same reason] how badly could it hurt? So I spent some time thinking about what I would/could get on my side. I thought "Man, spiders would look pretty cool crawling down my side." 3 days and $100 later and they were done. And yes, it hurt like a bitch, but it was worth it.
My first tattoo and the story behind it
I was actually 19, don't know why I waited the extra year...but I just needed to start but was broke and a little afraid to do anything large at the time. So I went to a small shop near my hometown and looked at the little stuff off the wall [ I haven't gotten an off the wall tattoo since]. But I'm very Irish and very proud of that heritage so I decided a simple, small shamrock would do. I decided on behind my left ear for placement. Everyone always asks how much it hurt...but it was just really loud actually.
My next tattoo
I've got about 7 planned, not scheduled yet though. The next one [or ones] are to finish off my nautical half sleeve on my left arm. So far there's a mermaid, an anchor, a sparrow, a skull and cross bones and of course nautical stars. The next piece[s] will be a ship being taken down by a giant squid and a compass rose. There will also be a traditional Sailor jerry, flash kind of fill on it. So it's really the next 2.5 pieces. At the time of this submission, I have an appointment for them this weekend.
